[Japan Association of Music Enterprises(JAME)]
JAME was founded in 1963 by artist management companies for the purpose of promoting the social status of and modernizing the music and theother related business. In March 1980, the organization was authorized by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry as a public utility corporation to help promote the wholesome development of the music business and to improve the quality of music entertainment asa a part of thenation's culture and a contribution to the betterment of lives of the country's citizens.
The association, comprised of 107 companies as full members and 44 as associate members, carries out research regarding the music business,gives seminars and maintains, administers and preserves the rights of intellectual property. It is also responsible for various other activities such as the exchange of views and collaboration with various concerned organizations and groups in and outside Japan.
